We were extremely lucky this year to be hosting two Christmas trees. My dear aunt Annette decided that she wasn't going to decorate. We jumped at the chance of borrowing her tree. Since we host some of the local family, and that family is handicap, we usually eat downstairs in the family room. But we put our tree up in the living room. So we borrowed her artificial tree and decorated it with all the fun ornaments. And on the 21st, we went tree hunting. After a few lots, we were able to find a beautiful full tree. Now our live tree hosts the "formal" decorations. A few dozen balls and ribbon, topped with a beautiful star. A few things have been added, candy canes from Aunt Gail's box, the start of a paper chain that Alex made in nursery, a couple of snowflakes, and a crystal star. I love the lack of decoration on the tree, it lets the tree shine through. And the NC trees are beautiful and full, no Charlie Brown trees here. Well we do have them, but you have to hunt hard to find one.
