Teagan's first day at preschool was today. He seemed to love it. As we walked in he kept showing off his backpack (which makes me feel great since I made it). He put up his backpack, pottyed and washed his hands. Then into the classroom he went. No issues, sat down to play with some play dough. Off I went to start a babysitting job. The best part was picking Teagan up. After picking up his backpack and return his name tag, we headed off to the car. And Teagan started telling me all about his day. This was a total shock for me. When Alex started preschool it took months of questioning him to get even the simplest response. But then when Daddy wanted to hear about his day, he was all talked out. And fortunately he took a nice long nap, though I don't think it was exactly long enough. But a great start to his first day.

    Teagan has recently given up naps. Oh big cry from Momma. But that means more problems for me. Like grumpy, whining hour. Usually happens an hour or so before dinner. Make cooking dinner a breeze, a breeze of hot air. But fortunately it passes. And bedtimes are good again.<br />

    Teagan LOVES pushing Joseph's buttons (moles on his face) different noises and or actions follow. Today, Teagan followed me in as I changed Abby Sue's Diaper before morning nap. She didn't like that idea. I warned her that Teagan would find her buttons and push them. Sure enough his finger came up and they started playing. As I prepared her for nap, I tried unsuccessfully to chase and ask him out. He kept coming in saying he lost his buttons. I kept telling him to go find them. But it didn't work too well. He would leave and a few moments later came back in he couldn't find them. This went on, till I put Abby Sue in bed and closed the door. I lifted up his shirt and poked his belly button, "there it is." Now he is happy he found his button.

    No, I'm not having a scream fest. It is coming from my 2 year old monster. Unfortunately these are the happy playful screams. These are the misery causing never ending type. Caused by nothing and cured by nothing. I've had to endure it all day. Screaming to the preschool, screaming home. Nothing but screams! Joseph even came up from the dungeon twice. I guess he thought I was torturing Teagan. Sorry to disappoint. Three hours to bedtime, and I pray that I make it. Joseph, I hope you enjoy your business meeting tonight, I'm sure it will be nice a quiet. Just don't count on having any brownies, I plan on hitting them hard tonight.

    Teagan is always making a liar out of us. Till this year he wouldn't eat bread, now he loves it. Till to days ago the only fruit he would eat was bananas, cantaloupe and processed fruits. Two days ago he started eating lots other fruits. And he was begging for green beans tonight at dinner. And stealing blueberries off our plates when we blinked. Thanks for making me a liar Teagan, I don't mind it one bit.

    Teagan had his check up today ( I suck at remembering to schedule these once a year things). And we have very exciting news. Teagan had a massive weight gain! Our feather weight now weights in at 26lbs! In the past two months Teagan has discovered that he not only likes but loves bread. Before this he wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. Then he has discovered peanut butter sandwiches, another super huge hit. So we are finally getting weight to stick to our bean pole. Though I still don't know where he stores this fat, he has a 20ish inched chested and a 20ish inched waist. (been working on sewing pjs for him that is how I know.) So keep this weight gain streak up Teagan, maybe you'll get back into the 50%.

Two years ago, Teagan was just a newborn. Though his size lead people to believe other wise. Being born at 10lb 9 oz and almost 24 inches would do that. Now he is a string bean, we can't keep pants on him he is that skinny. But pretty tall. He is so much the talker. And he can count to 7 easily. (I wonder if I can install more stairs? so he can learn to count higher.) He is great at sharing, though loves to say 'mine' at all the toys to drive Alex crazy. He loves everyone, but a good tease. And loves to flirt and clown around. He is also very much a Daddy's boy, and prefers almost any male over Momma ( much to my dismay). He is full of loves for the women in his life: Momma, Abby Sue and all the Grandmas. Has favorite bib and shirt and good luck getting him to wear something different. He does have a bit of a hard time with change, so we only have one pair of shoes out for a season. He is also a big helper, loves to help with the dishes, laundry and vacuuming ( ok so he follows the vacuum around but it is just one step shy of vacuuming) oh and helping Alex go potty (the official toilet flusher). Loves to read or just sit on your lap and cuddle, if he isn't too busy following Alex around.<br />
<br />
Enough rambling about him, all the birthday bash info:<br />
On his birthday we went to the day baseball game. Durham Bulls won! We enjoyed peanuts during the game and afterwards we went to locopops for some YUMMY ice cream. Alex, Teagan and Joseph got mexican chocolate. I got fudge brownie. Then we went to Costco to do some shopping and pick up pizzas for dinner. Then we got home around 5pm, and Laurelin showed up and we all ate pizza and yummy homemade chocolate cake. He was very excited, he got his very own take along train set with a few cars for Percy to pull, and a cozy coupe from his great grandparents Jackson. Grandma Nese even sent his present on time! A kite, cell phone and ball, unfortunately Alex plays with them. Then we had Teagan's birthday party on Saturday, we had sloppy joes, backed beans, mac and cheese and watermelon. Followed by a green cake and ice cream. Teagan had a blast with the friends that showed up. And they all had a blast playing in the yard, we didn't do the activity and game I planned. But the kids had more fun playing in a the bubbles and in the water table, I couldn't pull them away. Except with cake and ice cream and turning off the bubble maker.

    For Christmas Alex got a two wheel bike, and he loves it. He speeds down the driveway and masterfully turns around and returns over and over again. So to avoid being left out, Teagan hops on the tricycle and walks it up and down the driveway, or anywhere else Alex goes on his bike. Unfortunately Teagan isn't as good as handling those tight spots, so I often have cries of "stuck!" So Momma or Alex to the recuse. It was a blast watching Alex and Teagan play in the driveway while Abby Sue nursed.

    These past two weeks have been miracle weeks. The first big one is that Teagan now eats bread. Till recently I couldn't get Teagan to eat bread. A week ago we went to a Cuban restaurant for dinner (super yummy!) and Teagan ate two pieces of their cuban bread. I figured it was because it was grilled and buttered with herb/garlic butter. But then Saturday he was begging for a roll! Begging! And then when that one was gone begged for a second. Same thing again tonight! I'm still floored. He loves bread. Life has just gotten way easier now!<br />
<br />
Second miracle is the cutest. Friday night I fixed dinner for Grandma and Grandpa Jackson in honor of Grandma birthday. Teagan inhaled two bowls of butternut squash soup and then started to entertain the rest of us. He began singing. Mind you his lyrics are real lyrics, it was just due to chance and his broken record I finally figured out what he was singing. He was singing us the chorus of Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam. Mind you it is main "a gun geam" but today he started adding a few extra words to it too. It has been wonderful to actually see the sun and hear Teagan singing about being a sunbeam. It put a smile on my face all day.

    We have been working Teagan into the potty recently. He's been a little scared. Nothing that some candy won't cure. Last night Joseph went to change his yuck, and discovered that he was still try. We all go rushing to the potty. Joseph with Teagan, Alex to see what was going on, and me with a bag of jelly beans. So on the potty Teagan sat and we waited. I slowly feed him jelly beans to keep him there. Joseph got the bath water going, poured a few cups of warm water on him down there and he pees in the potty! It is so exciting. We might be able to get Alex potty trained in the next few years (he has a southern stubborn streak) but we should be able to get Teagan going!

    Teagan woke up sick. Though it didn't change our battle plan for Sunday one bit. Joseph and Alex are happily making their way to a long day at church. And I get Teagan! His silly noises always amuse me. Recently he learned to make a play snoring sound that would get anyone laughing. Teagan is also learning more words, though everything seems to start with a g or a c. grog is frog (which he loves watching the poison dart frogs at the museum and zoo) gish is fish, well you get the idea. He is earning a nickname of tiger. He LOVES to roar, and roar loud and often he does. Most of the time it is at Alex when Alex steals a toy or pushes him away, but it also is random. He is very opinionated about which socks he wears, he doesn't care much of the rest of his clothes. So every morning he has to pick out his socks, it can take a while. I've discovered he doesn't like handme down shoes. We have this darling pair of blue shoes from Alex, and Teagan grew into them! But he HATES THEM! We have to wrestle him in them and then dash outside before he has a chance to take them off. Once outside and playing he forgets to hate them. Teagan's favorite word, again, especially when it is playtime with Daddy. Now he is into a weeks worth of newspapers, starting to tear them and roaring. Better go before I have a huge mess to clean.

    Today Teagan woke up grumpy from his nap. And normally I can handle it wonderfully, but when you are sick with some flu like bug, life gets more difficult. So I got out Teagan's favorite snack, graham crackers and put them on the little table. Next came the funniest battle with a little chair. It first fell on him. Then he tried to sit in it when it was only an inch away from a table. He had to learn some time how to pull out his own chair. Fortunately it was today. Though now Teagan has woken Alex up from his nap. Oh boy let the noise start up.

    Teagan had a small breakthrough this morning. He sat still and watched a Baby Einstein movie. I see more of myself in Teagan everyday. I don't handle lazy time very well, I've got to have my hands doing something to be happy, and Teagan is the same way. He played with the baby vtech keyboard the whole time the movie was on. But since watching the movie (My World Animals or something like that) he has been going through the house collecting all the animal figurines and arranges them on the windowsills.
